The Distance Education Professional Development (DEPD) Program is designed to build or enhance your professional knowledge, skills, and leadership in distance/online education and training. Through a flexible, learner-centered curriculum, the program integrates core knowledge with practical applications in work settings. The courses are presented via the Internet, audio conferencing, and modular print formats so travel is not required. People may enroll in courses on a certificate or non-certificate basis.
California State University , Hayward Online Certificate in Online Teaching and Learning
The California State University, Hayward Online Certificate in Online Teaching and Learning consists of four graduate-level courses; each is offered during a five-week class session, and all four courses are offered each quarter. We recommend that you take the four courses sequentially over a two-quarter period -- EDUI 6701 and EDUI 6702 during your first quarter, and then EDUI 6703 and EDUI 6704 during your next quarter (we offer four full academic quarters each school year: Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer).

The 12 credit-hour program consists of four courses and is designed to be completed within one year by the full-time working professional. The UMUC Certificate in Distance Education provides individuals with a core set of knowledge and skills to help them manage the distance education enterprise within educational, business, government and non-profit organizations.
