How to Reset (Clear Attempt)

An Assignment

Students only have the ability to submit (turn in) a homework assignment using the Assignment feature onetime.
Use the instructions below to reset students, so they will be able to resubmit assignments using the assignment
feature found in Blackboard 6. Note: when you reset a student’s assignment, all submitted, saved, and graded
information will be lost and no recoverable.

  1. Login to Blackboard and enter the course where you want reset, or clear an attempt, an assignment.

2.       From within the class clicks on the Control Panel button.

3.       Under the Assessment area, Click on Gradebook link

4.       Locate the student who you wish to reset, and click on the “!” or mark.  The lock icon generally
means a student is in the process of working on the assignment – but in many cases the lock is show
as a result of a student becoming disconnected while submitting their assignment.

5.       Next you will see information related to the assignment: (Note: picture below is just the right side of
grade book information)

6.       Click on the View button to access the return assignment and feedback page.

7.       Clear the assignment attempt by clicking on the Clear Attempt button.  The button is located in the first section
of the page under the area Assignment Information.

8.       Now the student will be able to resubmit their assignment once they go back into your course.
