Testing Center: Approval Required


The Testing Center can only be used for courses that have prior approval for in-person testing. These courses include where the accreditation requires in-person proctoring. Other situations include students with accommodations and students where virtual proctoring does not work for them.

Students requiring accommodations approved by Accessibility Services may require the Blackboard test to be extracted as a PDF. Instructions for this process are found in the help topics below. See the Instructor Handbook for more information.

How do I know a student should recieve accommodations?

Students registered with Columbus State's Accessibility Services are provided a Letter of Accommodation to give to their instructor. This can be emailed as an attachment from the student's CSCC email address or printed and delivered to the instructor. There should not be any additional text or information in the body of the email.

Some accommodations can be provided in the Blackboard:

  • Extra time on exams can be specified by user in the Test Exceptions section of the Test Options.
  • Different test availability dates can be specified by user in the Test Exceptions section of the Test Options.
  • A PDF version of the exam can be extracted from Blackboard using Respondus.
  • A separate test may be needed.
