Students who reside 40 miles or more from any CSCC testing center may qualify for out of region testing. They are required to submit a request each semester and/or any course changes during the semester. Instructors are notified of a student's intent for using Out of Region testing services and confirmation of approval.
Out of Region students with online tests in Blackboard will be virtually proctored using LockDown Browser and Respondus Monitor. Paper/Pencil tests will have exam materials submitted to vetted sites by Out of Region testing.
Once a student requests Out of Region services, they will go through a process verifying that they can successfully take tests that are proctored virtually with Respondus Monitor. This includes a practice test using Respondus Monitor that is reviewed by Professional Proctors. Students who do not successfully take the practice test on the first attempt will receive coaching on the process and will retake the practice test. Students who cannot successfully take the practice test after the second attempt will not qualify for Out of Region services.
A second copy of the test will need to be created in LockDown Browser for the students identified as Out of Region. PDF on How to Set up an Out of Region Blackboard Test with RM
