General Proctoring Information

Proctoring with Respondus Lockdown Browser and Respondus Monitor

Instructors

Instructors are strongly encouraged to give their students a Practice Quiz using Respondus Lockdown Browser and Monitor a few weeks prior to giving a high-stakes exam. This allows the students to identify issues they may have downloading the Lockdown Browser or other technical issues.

Students

Respondus Lockdown Browser (RLB) is necessary to be downloaded on every student’s device/computer for Respondus Monitor to work. This is a free download. Students DO NOT have to buy any apps.

Disability Services Considerations

Live Proctoring by Faculty

If a student is unable to use Respondus Lockdown Browser and Monitor, doing a live proctoring session with them may be necessary. These guides will help instructors with each product. Instructors are strongly encouraged to give their students a Practice Quiz in the chosen love proctoring system a few weeks prior to giving a high-stakes exam. This allows the students to identify technical issues.
